Maro Brothers Wine Sampling Friday September 19th 4:00 to 6:00PM 2024 Massican Pinot Grigio Pale straw color with enticing green apple, melon, lemon zest, yellow flowers, citrus blossom, raw almond, and sea spray aromas On the palate, it’s medium-bodied with mouth-watering zesty acidity, and candied lemon peel, grapefruit, melon, green apple flavors accented with a saline minerality. The finish is bright and satisfying. Maro Bros Low Price: $24.99/ Tasting ONLY PRICE: $22.49 2024 Massican Sauvignon Blanc Inspired by the Sauvignon wines of northern Italy, our Sauvignon Blanc pays homage to the tart and delicious everyday wine workhorse of the region of Friuli. While it is difficult to recreate these specific Italian wines anywhere else in the world, we believe our Sauvignon Blanc is a California interpretation of these great Italian white wines. The grapes for this wine are farmed at distinct vineyards in Napa and Sonoma, where the temperatures are warmest during the day and the coolest at night. That diversity helps us produce a wine of intensity and freshness, and as such, we tip-our-Sauvignon-hat to our fellow winemakers in northeast Italy. Maro Bros Low Price: $24.99/ Tasting ONLY PRICE: $22.49 2022 Orin Swift Abstract A blend of Grenache, Petite Sirah and Syrah. The 2022 Abstract pours a dark purple core with a neon, ruby rim. The nose is quintessential Abstract but with a broodier twist-notes of ripe black plum, cacao, black pepper, cedar, dried porcini, forest floor musk and sweet oak. The entry is coating and flooding with hints of blueberry preserves, tarragon, balsamic glaze and anise. Bright and lifting through the palate, the finish offers an umami note akin to eggplant yakitori. Maro Bros Low Price: $45.99/ Tasting PRICE: $41.39 2020 Orin Swift M8 Years in the Desert Bright violet in the glass, the 2020 8 Years in the Desert is the epitome of our style, the reason we are even here in the first place. As it’s being poured, the aromatics hit squarely on the nose with a perception of sweetness: pure brambly raspberry juice and blueberry preserves with a hint of white pepper and High Sierra forest floor. Yet, the perceived sweetness on the nose is just that, perceived, and doesn’t carry through to the palate. Lush and enveloping with a beam of acidity, notes of blackberry pie, plum and kirsch flourish. Ultra-round tannins and lingering raspberry, the wine finishes in slow-motion. Maro Bros Low Price: $60.99/ Tasting ONLY PRICE: $49.97 2020 Orin Swift Machete A dark mauve core with a neon purple rim, the wine stains everything. Opening aromatics on the 2020 Machete are gorgeous immediately: ripe pluot, carne asada, new cowboy boots, lilacs, espresso bean and wet concrete. On the palate, layers upon layers reveal themselves, from a plum galette topped with fior di latte gelato to 85% cacao dark chocolate to barbeque tri-tip and sweet oak.
